The Milwaukee Islamic Dawah Center adamantly opposes and condemns in the strongest terms the use of hunger as a weapon. Whether it's a weapon of oppression to starve civilians, or as a political weapon to drive hardships on the most vulnerable while bureaucrats argue over our fate.

There is a fear implicit in unstable governance, and individual organizations can't make up the gap of government programs that effect millions of families. In Milwaukee, the Dawah Center is on the front line. Our Food Pantry faces even more stress as we expand to meet these new needs.

Community meals on Monday and Thursday evenings can take some pressure off families. And we're committed to hosting programs on gardening, cooking, and reducing food waste for more long-term sustainability; not just as a reaction to any event.

Times like these are a reminder of the precarious position we've always been in. Certainly, all power is with Allah and more than anything we need your prayers for ease in times of hardship and success over difficulties.
